DJ Babu "The Turntablist"

DJ Babu is one third of the hip hop group Dilated People's. He has one multiple DJ competition's, and at age 36 is considered to be the the original "turntablist." Although he is given this name, he states that he does not feel ultra comfortable accepting that title, stating that there was many before him who should have this honor.

Cinema: Lindsay Lohan - A Richard Phillips Film

Transitioning from her early days as a Disney movie actress to now becoming somewhat of a cult figure, Lindsay Lohan has emerged through multiple battles with society and has, for the most part, done quite well in different arenas of creativity. Her latest project is being the main subject of a short film by Richard Phillips and surf filmmaker Taylor Steele, simply titled “Lindsay Lohan.” The piece was filmed in Malibu, California with Lindsay on house arrest, making it just a tad bit more intriguing, depending on how you look at it.

Watch The Throne: Kanye West And Jay-Z To Drop New Track Tonight?

 
Thanks to my incredible screen shot techniques, I was able to catch this on @DDotOmen's Twitter account. After celebrating his birthday yesterday, Kanye and the rest of GOOD music are set to perform at the Brooklyn Savings Bank Theatre. Word has at that Kanye and Jay are set to premiere a new track off the upcoming LP "Watch The Throne." We'll just have to wait and see if the boys tonight decide to go H.A.M.

New Video: Memory Tapes - "Yes I Know"


New from New Jersey-based indie band Memory Tapes comes a surreal, Eric Epstein directed video for the latest track off their upcoming album, Player Piano. Lead by Dayve Hawk, the former frontman for glossy Philadelphia post-punk band Hail Social, Memory Tapes has garnered a lot of attention for their remixes of popular songs from the likes of Peter, Bjorn & John and even Britney Spears. Entitled “Yes I Know,” the track featured here is eerie and ethereal, yet also quite listenable. Featuring supernatural light displays, celestial figures and unnerving, melting bodies – the sleek video is certainly a statement. Player Piano is due out in July 2011.

According to The Source, Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Watch The Throne LP" now has an official release date. On America's birthday July 4th, the two rap superstars are set to release this monster project. Fireworks, Hot Dogs, and Def Jam!
